Baby girl grows 'micropenis' from lying on dad’s bare chest as doctor shares warning

A baby girl in Sweden developed male-like genital features after being unknowingly exposed to testosterone gel used by her father.
The father had applied the gel on his chest to treat low libido and energy levels, then held his daughter skin-to-skin, unknowingly transferring the hormone.

By 10 months, her clitoris had grown unusually large and her labia began to resemble a scrotum.
Medical tests showed abnormally high testosterone levels for a female infant. Doctors linked it to secondary exposure from the gel.

Once the father changed how he used the medication—ensuring the gel dried completely and covering the area—her hormone levels and physical symptoms gradually returned to normal.

Experts warn that testosterone gels can be potent and easily transferred to children through skin contact.

They advise strict precautions when using such medications to avoid unintended hormonal effects, especially as testosterone therapy becomes more common among men.
